Eating a healthy breakfast before running out is pretty important!

Thats all you eat??

That's all you eat??

You may have heard this from your mom or dad, but it’s true.  Whenever it was one of those days (like every other day) where you wake up early in the morning, yet it’s still late because school or work starts so early, you find yourself finding time for putting on the correct deodorant rather than spending time eating breakfast.

While I’m not saying for you to go places all stinky, find the time to eat properly in the morning so you don’t feel fatigued till lunch.  Also another problem, is that when a lot of people wake up in the morning, they don’t feel hungry right away, alnd by the time hunger kicks in they are a couple hours into their institution and have to wait till lunch.  I ran through most of high school with this problem, till I developed my own method of feeling hungry in the morning so I ate a good and hearty breakfast filled with my favorite cereal, some eggs or toast, and OJ.

How to feel hungry in the morning so you can fuel yourself properly

First of all, eat at a correct time the previous night.  Don’t delay your dinner, I know all of us are busy, but don’t delay the food that fuels you.  Finish up the main course by 7-8 pm.  Take a little walk or stroll after eating, no jogging.  It helps digest the food.  Snacking a little bit is cool but make sure you don’t finish the entire package.  After that sleep on time, which I’m guessing you can’t, because if you are anything like I used to be (and still probably am), a procrastinator.  The incorrect sleeping time is what throws off a lot of people from waking up early in the morning.

For sleeping correctly, I just listen to some music at a light pace.  I notice I can’t sleep with rock music, I just listen to some radio hip hop/r&b or classics.  Studies even show that music (No source: but I remember reading it from a Reader’s Digest) helps you calm down, and any stress you have will even go away since your focus is on the music.  I was taught to count sheep jumping over fences when I was a kid, but that never really worked for me.  Try to sleep by 9 or 10 pm so you can rise up by 4:30 – 5.

What you SHOULD be eating (Ok not all 3 plates, but pick and choose!)

When you are awake, if possible, that early, then before you even do anything, wash your face and head out for a 20 – 30 minute jog.  Wear a jacket of course, as it’s usually freakishly cold in the morning.  Or for those of you gym buffs, just head out to the gym and get a good work out.  However, through the various reads I have done, any form of aerobic exercise is best in the morning, but it’s a good idea to lift some weights at least as well.  Afterwards, you will be STARVING, at about 6:30, and you can eat that healthy and hearty breakfast.  You notice you will be able to eat twice as much or even more as before.  When you go to school or work,  you will be glowing and even feel like you are extremely active.  Not to mention you will look healthier and less groggy as usual.  Don’t forget to drink lots of water after breakfast as well, not only does it help wash down the food but you need it for your body to replenish itself.

It may take some time to get used to.  It took me a couple weeks to get used to enjoying the fruits of a morning jog.  In the beginning, you WILL feel horrible and extremely tired.  But as every muscle in the body, it needs exercising and working at it to get used to.

In fact, studies show that proper breakfast increases the health and energy for the rest of the day for any person.  Don’t ask me for a quote on this one, it’s COMMON SENSE!

Try this schedule for 3 weeks, and stay consistent.  Then post here, and let us know how you feel!

And don't think "Snickers bars" count as a healthy breakfast! =)

thats good advice - i know i've tried this in mornings before and not only has it helped fuel my hunger, but it's kept me awake afterwards.

I do something a little different though, for me, I've never been able to run properly as soon as i wake up... so I usually eat an apple or something first to get a little energy. Apples are also good for metabolism because they digest faster and so get your digestive system running faster

    Or so I've heard =D
