Your heart is the most important muscle in your body, and as so it is prone to many dangers. These dangers have usually been diseases that can be avoided by exercising, such as blocking of arteries and increased heart pressure. But now scientists are getting wind of a new kind of heart disease that isn’t at all affected by how fit the heart is: dialated cardiomyopathy. Some cases of dialated cardiomyopathy have a clear cause, such as autoimmune mechanisms not working properly or an invasion from viral myocarditis. Unfortunately, most cases of dilated cardiomyopathy are described as idiopathic, which essentially means “disease of unknown origins”. That’s what’s so scary – doctors know NO confirmed cause for most of the cases, and the only real cure for these cases is a heart transplant.
You should be aware of this disease and know that although you may be perfectly fit, there are still diseases that may infiltrate your body. There are 3 million cases of cardiomyopathy, and a quarter million deaths occur from this disease every year. One of the cases is about a teen who, as a rugby player, has been physically fit all his life – yet for some strange reason, his performance in sports begin to scarily dwindle. When he once could run many miles without exhausting himself, after ten minutes of rugby practice he feels exhausted. To read about this teen’s experience with this disease and how it affected him, check out this article on StanMed – it’s an interesting account that I believe is important to read about. You also get to see the teen smile while holding his own heart – it’s a little strange, isn’t it?

The past decade has marked a period of change for many Americans, and for many around the world as well. According to Time, these changes have resulted in probably the worst decade since World War II; in fact, the magazine pessimistically calls it “The Decade From Hell”, and says it points the way to an even worse decade in the future. In the past 10 years, we have had wars in Afghanistan and Iraq, natural disasters such as Hurricane Katrina, the disintegration of the American auto industry, and a rejection of human rights in Guantanamo Bay. TIME seems to have it right when it calls the past decade “The Decade from Hell”, but what do you really think? Has the past decade really been that bad, especially considering some of the worst times we’ve had since World War II?
Here’s how I’m looking at this situation: this decade has not even been close to Read More

Mmm. Christmas.
Probably one of the most interesting things about today is that every household will do something different on Christmas. For some people, this will be a normal day just as any other, and they may repeat their usual routine. But for those who celebrate Christmas, they will be waking up to a house alive with Christmas spirit, complete with a Christmas tree and decorations.
Whether you celebrate Christmas or not, note that Christmas day isn’t about receiving presents – it’s about sharing love with family and appreciating them for never letting you feel alone. You don’t have to believe in any religion to do that.
Merry Christmas to you all.

Important things to know and do while posting your article
Of the few important things to properly finish off a post in TeenPublish besides the title and your post content, you need to be aware of the following and enter them accordingly. The numbers associate with the image below:
1) Your permalink – if this option is enabled for you, you may change this or just leave it default as it’s calculated based off of your title. If you decided to change this, please keep it relevant to your article post. This is going to be your URL so it’s important to stay relevant.
2) Your Simple Tags – Easy to add tags that you can think of on your own. I personally like using the Automated Tagger (Shown below), which will fetch tags according to the content of your article based off of it’s material. It’s a great way if you are lazy of thinking up good tags. Remember, tags and categories are ways to separate your content in relation to other’s content.
3) Post Tags – another way to add new tags that are not necessary related to your post. I personally like using Simple Tags, and automatic Tagger if I can’t think of tags.
4) Categories – Pick and choose the correct categories. This is important as well, if the option for adding a new category is there, then you may do so as well (depending on your user status).
5) Your Excerpt – This exercpt is what’s going to show up in the Description meta for search engines for SEO. In other words, for people using certain search engines, such as Google, Yahoo, etc when searching for your page, the description and title is what’s going to catch their eye. The excerpt (also Description box below) is what will do that and needs to be written. For instance, in the image above, the excerpt is horrible. I like to make good practice of keeping a nice excerpt which usually can consist of a summary of the article, or a copy and paste of your premise (I usually make my first paragraphs the premise, attention-grabber of the article). Remember, in below’s image the Description box does the same thing, but I would rather prefer that you write the description in the Excerpt box. You can keep the below Description box blank then.
